AARON

As a teenager, I loved a good cup of coffee, but I really didn't know how to create my own.  I just relied on whatever was available.  However, over the (many) years, the passion for fresher, better coffee has overtaken me.  It started small enough with a Moka pot, French press and a few other miscellaneous small items, but my wife about lost it when I decided to install a commercial espresso machine, a two group LaCimballi, in our house (it does take up a good chunk of our dining room).  Then, I moved on to roasting my own beans.  About the same time, I decided to become a certified technician for several of the commercial espresso machine manufacturers...and when that wasn't enough, I decided it was time to share my passion with the rest of the community.

It would seem odd to most people that I enjoy working as a barista because I honestly don't care for the taste of coffee.  Now the smell of coffee...that is something entirely different.  Mostly, my husband's passion for creating an excellent cup of coffee has just rubbed off on me.  I consider myself a reasonably artistic person and this allows me to express my creative side too.  Not to mention,  I enjoy the social aspect of barista-ing.  Oh, and we mustn't forget the baking.  I love baking and more importantly, eating the baked goods.

I enjoy a great many pasttimes, from photography to Bible journaling to essential oils.  However, my absolute favorite pasttime is simple: coffee.  Nothing in life is more satisfying than having a cup of good coffee with friends and family.  And while I tend to keep myself busy with a couple part time jobs and some volunteering, working at Beanzy's gives me the perfect opportunity to live the dream...awesome coffee on demand (and a paycheck to help fund my addiction).

Since I was nine years old, coffee has been a staple of happiness in my life.  From concoctions made from Grandma's instant coffee and malt mixes, to riding my bicycle downtown on a 90° summer day just for that mocha, or skipping class in high school to grab an iced latte, to now standing behind the counter to make my quad-shot americano with just a splash of almond, coffee has always been a source of happiness for me.  I love that for the last 4 years I have been able to serve customers their very own cups of happiness.

As a recent stay at home mom of a one year old, not a day goes by that I don't have at least two very large cups of coffee. I am certain I could not function properly without it. I have spent almost 10 of the last 12 years behind the counter as a barista and have loved every minute of it. Most days, whether the temperature is 100° or -100° outside you can find an iced almond milk latte in my hand! I look forward to sharing my love of life's delicious elixor with you!
